1. Who we are
Learn AI ("Learn AI", the "App") is operated by Anton Vodolazkyi, an individual residing in Ukraine ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller responsible for your personal data processed through the App.
Contact for privacy matters: learn.ai.developer@gmail.com.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Learn AI iOS application, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies to the App and its related services. It does not apply to third-party services that have their own privacy policies (see Section 6).
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account and profile information
When you create an account you provide, or we receive from your chosen sign-in provider:
- Email address and a password (for email sign-up; the password is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider and is never visible to us).
- If you sign in with Apple ("Sign in with Apple"): a unique Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email (which may be a private Apple relay address).
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile photo URL associated with your Google account.
- An optional display name and profile photo shown in your profile.
3.2 Anonymous / guest use
To let you try the App before signing up, we create an anonymous session at first launch. In this mode we do not collect your name or email. Your learning activity is associated with a randomly generated identifier and is linked to your account only if and when you sign up.
3.3 Onboarding responses and learning preferences
During onboarding you may tell us about your learning motivation, primary goal, experience level, tools you already use, topics of interest, weekly learning goal, and notification/reminder preferences. We use these answers to personalize your recommended learning path.
3.4 Learning activity
We store your learning progress, including lessons you have completed, your generated learning path, and derived statistics such as streaks and courses completed.
3.5 Subscription and purchase information
When you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. We (and our subscription-management provider RevenueCat) receive your subscription status, product identifier, purchase and renewal dates, trial eligibility, and a transaction/receipt identifier so we can unlock premium features and manage your entitlement.
3.6 Usage and analytics data
We use a product-analytics provider (PostHog) to understand how the App is used and to improve it. This includes in-app events and interactions (for example, screens viewed, lessons started or completed, paywall interactions), a pseudonymous analytics identifier, session information, app version, device model and operating-system version, language/locale, and coarse/approximate region derived from your IP address. We do not use this data to identify you personally beyond linking it to your account identifier.
3.7 Device and technical data
We may process technical information necessary to operate the App, such as device type, operating system version, app version, and network-related information (for example, IP address used to make requests to our backend).
3.8 Notifications
If you opt in, the App schedules local notifications (e.g. study/streak reminders) on your device. These are generated on-device and do not by themselves transmit personal data to us.
4. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and operate the App and your account.
- To personalize your learning path and recommendations.
- To track and sync your learning progress across sessions and devices.
- To process and manage subscriptions, trials, and entitlements.
- To send local reminders you have opted into.
- To measure usage, diagnose problems, and improve the App (analytics).
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To keep the App secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Creating and operating your account; delivering courses and progress; managing subscriptions | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Personalization, product analytics, and service improvement | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), or consent where required |
| Optional notifications and any optional analytics that require it | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you may withdraw at any time |
| Security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance | Legitimate interests / legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(f)/(c)) |
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share personal data only with service providers ("processors" / sub-processors) that help us run the App, and only as needed to provide their service:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution, Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases & payment processing | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Sign in with Google (authentication) | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| Supabase | Account authentication, database, and backend hosting | supabase.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and entitlement processing | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| PostHog | Product analytics | posthog.com/privacy |
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or others.
7. International data transfers
Some of our providers are located outside Ukraine and the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, as applicable.
8. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data associated with it, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Aggregated or anonymized analytics that can no longer identify you may be retained.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability (receive your data in a portable format);
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights; in the EU, your local data-protection authority).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at learn.ai.developer@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. Account deletion
You can delete your account and associated personal data directly in the App: open the Profile tab and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, onboarding responses, learning path, and progress from our backend. You can also request deletion by emailing learn.ai.developer@gmail.com. Note that your subscription is managed by Apple; deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — see the Subscription Terms for how to cancel.
11. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, which may be higher). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and owner-only row-level security on your data in our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
