Lesson 2 of 6
Products you can ship today
5 min read
You don't need a dev team to ship an AI product. Some of the most useful ones are built by clicking, not coding.
Products you can build today
Three accessible forms. A [Custom GPT](glossary://custom-gpt) is ChatGPT set up once for one job and shared. A [Gem](glossary://gem) is the same idea inside Gemini. An [agent](glossary://agent) takes a goal and does multi-step work with tools. All three are [no-code](glossary://no-code) — you shape them by describing what they do.
The barrier to making something is near zero now. That's the good news — and the catch: it's near zero for everyone else too.
Easy to make, easy to match
Because these forms are so quick to build, a working product is not, by itself, an advantage. The question shifts from "can I build it?" to "why is mine the one people keep coming back to?" — which is the moat question the rest of this course is about.
Shipping proves the idea. Staying alive is about what you add that a click-together copy can't.
Start here anyway. A Custom GPT or Gem is the fastest way to test whether anyone actually wants the thing — before you invest in the hard parts.
The shape of it
- —Custom GPTs, Gems, and agents let you ship AI products with no code.
- —That low barrier means competitors can match a basic version fast.
- —Use these forms to test demand, then build something harder to copy.
You build a Custom GPT for meal planning in an afternoon and people love it. What does that afternoon actually prove?
